History of the School

Divine Savior School was formed in 2007 as a result of a unification of Holy Rosary and Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Schools. Combined, Holy Rosary and Saints Peter and Paul have a rich 160-year tradition of providing an outstanding Catholic faith-based quality education in the New Holstein and Kiel areas.

Our School Leader: Anton Shircel

I am grateful to be a part of the great community of Divine Savior Catholic School. I began my career as a middle school social studies/literacy teacher in 2012, teaching at Horning Middle School in Waukesha. Then, moving to Sheboygan Falls, I continued to teach both literacy and social studies, as well as taking on leadership positions in data analysis, mentoring of new staff, curriculum development, and instructional coaching.

During my educational career, I have presented on inclusive instruction, worked with the DPI in the review of Forward Testing exams in the areas of literacy and social studies, consulted on the development of online educational modules for ETS, reviewed textbooks for the state, and worked with historical societies in connecting local history to the classroom. I have also been heavily involved in the high school debate/forensics community as a coach for the past 15 years, guiding numerous students to national tournaments.

My Bachelor’s degree is in Secondary Education English/History from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I later received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Carroll University in Waukesha. As the husband to a hard-working wife and the father of four growing children, I have grown an appreciation for Gabby's Dollhouse and our Instapot when it comes time to make dinner.

Our Parish Leader: Father Alvan Amadi

Father Amadi is the priest for the tri-parishes: St. Peter & Paul in Kiel, Holy Rosary in New Holstein, and St. Ann, in St. Ann.

The best thing about priestly service is the fact that it’s not about me. It’s about Jesus Christ who has called me and who is using me each day as His instrument to anoint His people in the Church. So I have to remind myself of that every day and that gives me hope that gives me joy that also gives me a lot of peace. May God bless you.
